Took a ‘09 xB home to try out. 100k on it, clutch grabs high, headliner is filthy, and there’s just too much body damage/rust for me to consider it.
Plus fuck these useless sunvisors
This isn’t even a redeeming quality. Feel is vague and sloppy. Might be fixed with new solid bushings from what I found on scary Scion forums though. Lots of old people there, its weird.

That’s a lot of rust for an 09...
Also pointless fact, that’s the same basic shift knob as the higher spec Peugeot 107s.

Good thing they kept plastic down to protect the $40 floor mats.
I say it's probably a good thing you passed on this. So, the search continues!

Now I know why it’s such a great deal, and why it’s been sitting here so long...

What's your budget and where are you located? I'll search when I get bored of working. Which usually takes about 30 seconds.

$100~ a month, Milwaukee WI.
Must be stick, hatchback/wagon preferred if I have to spend the money.... otherwise I’d just dump a G into the Camry and keep it.

You can’t slide the visor? Never drove an xB so was wondering.

See if you can find a 4.0 manual pre 1995 explorer with less than 150k miles on it. They can be had for cheap and if maintained correctly can run forever

My dad has a 2015 model with the automatic transmission. It’s a good car.

I like getting 30mpg. I have a 60 mile commute.

NOPE. Worst thing in the world when driving South in the AM, and North in the PM.

How much of it is highway? Because if you can keep your foot out of it, those OHV 4.0s can put out 22 highway MPG

Get a 1st gen xB. Tons of headroom, incredibly capable with the rear seats down, tons of aftermarket, and it’s light as hell, while pimpin’ 30mpg.

None available in my area with a steek

Not willing to drive out for one? The only truly downside I can see is it has a tiny gas tank. Still love mine, though.

Hmm, I’ve got a couple if I think I’m correct in guessing the ballpark price range based on the xB you were looking at.

Saturn (Opel) Astra http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/…

Didn’t see that Astra before.... hmm, I could own TWO orphaned GM vehicles!

Have no car to drive out for one :P

At least in the case of the Astra, it was a decent vehicle that didn’t deserve to die (although it technically didn't, just the parent company).
